Abstract 101 !

    if you can imagine it , sure u can do it ... !


Abstract - the Shots which give different perspective of the things we generally see around !

Rules - There are none  ... ! that's what makes abstract special and sometimes real Hard .

Things That could make a abstract better -

Angle : The whole content of the picture mainly depends on the angle of the frame , a slight variation in angle makes a whole lot diffrence to the same picture .. 

Tip - So first adjust the Shutter Speed,Aperture ,ISO and all other parameters and take a trial shot.

 If you are happy with the composure of the shot , then with the same setting take a couple of pic experimenting with the angles ... 

Sometimes its like Hit in the dark ...!! Patience is must . 

can u guess what it is .. ?? its the back of the gift cover , the shiny surface from a angle gives this vivid effect .. ! its all about seeing things with a different perspective 

Light : Plays a major role , More light can ruin the pic , so does less light .. this is where aperture and shutter speed kicks in . you need to control the amount of light entering . it can mean everything .. 

Let there be light’ – for our grandchildren .... coz today’s wastage is tomorrow’s shortage .

Tip- the main source for ppl to take abstract is sunlight .. But if u choose , You can use a highvalue  watt bulb or cfl too ..

its much more preferable to take shots in less light , than to take overexposed shots , you can bring up the brightness using ps .. but reducing brightness is pain ..!  

Subject : Common things like pencil , pen , tip of the pen/pencil,spoon,holders, drop of water,fumes ..etc are a great subject for abstract , just try with almost everything and anything in home .

Shadows on the subject or background due to light source :

be careful about the shadows created by the light on your subject .. dont let that shadow overlay the detail of your subject .

Tip : if u are using artificial source of light , like cfl or bulb , play around with shadows and the with the direction of light ... try from all possible angle .sure takes some time but worth it !

Pattern, texture, color  : pattern of any sort , like a repeating light , same texture across the subject can make a beautiful , vivid shot and sometimes by breaking the pattern .. .  make sure its colorful enough or else the frame wil look empty .. 

you can always create your own pattern .. ! these are just an ideas .. 

Black and white : this mode is divine , if u screw up any pic , turn it into black and white and edit the color levels a bit .. and there you go .. a new awesome pic ! .. this is a lifesaver tool ..

here , a shot using black and white mode ... you can fuse lot of other techniques like macro , landscapre with abstract .. and make sure to keep a good frame, if u dint atleast  crop the frame using !/3rd rule .

Last thing 

Experimentation : abstract is all about going against the preset rules , all about looking something beautiful out of ordinary .. experiment with everything till you get bored , with time it will turn into your second sense . you wil automatically look out for the angle .. til then u need to hang on and experiment like a devil  !

Last tip - in any frame if you wished that thing would be better if it were like this , then not to worry .. instead of just wishing , go do it .. add things to ur frame , remove things from your frame, IN short - make your Own !

 Make the familiar seem unfamiliar with a different camera angle , with different exposure , with different light , with different color balance ... In the end make something extraordinary with something common as  dat yo day object ..!
